Fall Youth Flag Football

Pine Island's youth football league is set up for children in the Pine Island school district. There are three distinct programs:

K-1st graders participate in an "in house" rec league that focuses on allowing kids to develop skills and enjoy the game of football while competing in team play against other Pine Island athletes in a low pressure environment. This program is lead by our 7th-12th grade football coaches and supported by our varsity football players. Practices/Games will be held on Saturday mornings beginning on September 7th and ending October 12th. Note that for the 1st-2nd grade all practices/games are held on the football practice fields.

2nd-3rd graders will participate in a transitional program that is designed to help them as they enter the travelling league in 4th grade. All participants will be divided into teams and compete in an “in-house” league throughout the season. The purpose of the league is to allow kids to focus on developing football skills and enjoy the game of football in a non-contact environment while competing in team play against other league teams. This program will be supported by volunteer parent coaches. Practices will begin in late August (schedule still being finalized) and league play will begin in early September with games on Saturday mornings (schedule still to be finalized).

4th-6th grade league participants are divided into teams (generally 4th graders by themselves and 5th & 6th graders combined) and compete in travelling league play. The purpose of the league is to allow kids to focus on developing football skills and enjoy the game of football in a non-contact environment while competing in team play against other area league teams. This program will be supported by volunteer parent coaches. Practices will begin in late August (Tuesday & Thursday evenings) and league play will begin in early September with games on Saturday mornings (schedule still to be finalized).
